# E2B

> Use Box Mount to give an agent running in an E2B sandbox governed access to a Box folder.

[E2B](https://e2b.dev) provides cloud sandboxes for running agent code. Box Mount runs inside the sandbox and maps a Box folder to a standard POSIX path, so your agent works with ordinary file operations while Box remains the system of record.

This demo mounts a Box folder in an E2B sandbox, reviews a contract against an approved legal playbook with Box AI or an OpenAI agent, and syncs the review memo back to Box.

## Before you begin

On the Box side, you need:

* Access to the Box Mount developer preview, including the Linux x86\_64 Box Mount archive. To request access, complete the [Box Mount developer preview form](https://bit.ly/box-mount-preview).
* A Box app configured for OAuth 2.0 or JWT. See [Configure credentials](https://developer.box.com/guides/box-mount#configure-credentials).
* The ID of the Box folder you want to mount. This is the number at the end of the folder URL on Box.

You also need an [E2B](https://e2b.dev) API key.

## Set up Box Mount in E2B

The demo has its own requirements, in addition to the Box Mount prerequisites:

* Node.js 20 or later.
* A model to run the review. The demo uses Box AI by default, which requires access to the Box AI API. To run the review with an OpenAI agent inside the sandbox instead, add an OpenAI API key.

Follow the [Box Mount contract review](https://github.com/box-community/boxmount-contract-review) README. It covers configuring the demo, validating your Box and E2B access, seeding the Box folder, running the review, and tearing down the sandbox.

The demo mounts the Box folder at `/home/user/box-demo` in the sandbox. E2B expires the demo sandbox automatically after one hour.

## Next steps

* Review [Secure your credentials](https://developer.box.com/guides/box-mount#secure-your-credentials) before you give an agent broader access in the sandbox.
* Review the Box Mount [known limitations](https://developer.box.com/guides/box-mount#known-limitations) before you build on the preview.
