Vercel Sandbox gives you an on-demand Linux microVM with its own filesystem, network, and process space. Box Mount runs inside that sandbox and maps a Box folder to a standard POSIX path, so your agent works with ordinary file operations while Box remains the system of record.

Before you begin

On the Box side, you need:
  • Access to the Box Mount developer preview, including the Box Mount binary. To request access, complete the Box Mount developer preview form.
  • A Box app configured for OAuth 2.0 or JWT, with its credentials saved as a box-config.json file. See Configure credentials.
  • The ID of the Box folder you want to mount. This is the number at the end of the folder URL on Box.

Demo video

This demo mounts a Box folder in a Vercel Sandbox, runs an agent that answers a security questionnaire from approved policy documents, and syncs the finished workbook and review list back to Box.

Set up Box Mount in Vercel Sandbox

Follow Box Mount in the Vercel documentation. It covers installing Box Mount in a sandbox, running the sync and the agent as separate users, mounting the folder, and unmounting before the sandbox stops. The separate-users setup follows the Box recommendation in Secure your credentials.
